About Songs for Peace

 These charity events are collaboration between musicians and singing circle facilitators and you, to create communal gatherings and to send out an intention of peace into the world, in these unstable times

For those of you who have not been before, the format will be to create a ceremonial/prayer/meditation space. Together we will make a beautiful installation or altar in the centre, so please bring something that represents Peace in some way.

We will then sing and spend some time in silence between each song.

We can sing  together from a song sheet, an example of songs, and there is also room for improvisation and finding authentic expression through your voice

We will hold the structure and the focus of the event and provide songs.  We also want these events to be a collaboration. So please feel free to contribute a song/chant/mantra etc that we can join in with. Our songs do not have to be in a particular modality and can include harmonies and spontaneous improvisation

Our intention is to connect with peace, whatever this means to you, with reference to: The global situation, our apparent inability to support each other and life on Earth;

The terrible conflicts in Iran, the Middle East, or any other war zone;

Any conflict or dissonance in your community / family;

Or as an inner process of finding peace between any internal warring factions
